Updated for 2022/23, this Middle Leadership Programme aims to ensure that middle leaders are effective in driving improvement, and working effectively with senior leadership to accelerate learning in schools.
Running over seven modules, the programme is carefully structured to ensure that actions are taken in a timely and effective manner, supported with practical gap tasks that enable delegates to apply what they have learned to the actions needed for the role. Gap tasks form the basis of the leaders’ action plans and draw from the School
The programme is practical but sited on strong pedagogy and research and supported with three separate 360 assessments to track progress (before the programme begins, the middle of the programme and an end point).
Mindful of school budgets and capacity, to ensure maximum engagement we recommend that the attendance counts as twilight CPD for those sessions. Sessions 1-5 will take place on Zoom virtually, sessions 6 and 7 will take place on the same day, face to face, in a REAch2 school.
For the programme to run effectively, a maximum capacity of 30 delegates will be in place for this cohort, however additional delegates will be placed on a waiting list for subsequent programmes.
Please note that middle leaders put forward for the programme will need a mentor in school to support their development and act as a point of liaison with REACH TEACH over progress and expectations. This investment will enable both middle leadership and senior leadership to work in tandem effectively.
TARGET AUDIENCE: The programme is designed to work for both those who are new to middle leadership – and to also support those more experienced middle leaders who are keen to benchmark their experience against the new OfSTED framework.
