Code: REA-611 NC 11B411 Teaching Shakespeare

'Shake it Up Shakespeare' is one of the 11 before 11 adventures: to perform an abridged Shakespeare play in from of a large audience.

To support teachers in planning and delivering this adventure, we have organised a day where all classteachers (whose classes will be performing) meet  regionally, with an experienced actress and drama teacher, to bring the plays alive and support the organisation and delivery.

We have commissioned two abridged plays, and will have two fresh  plays every year: this year, schools can choose from The Tempest, and Romeo and Juliet. Each play comes with a full teachers pack to support schools' delivery of the plays - full of practical guidance and top tips for a smooth production.

Code: REA-599 WM Inspection Skills for Middle Leaders

This course has a lengthy and successful track record of helping headteachers and other senior leaders sharpen their evaluation skills and extend their capacity to monitor and improve their schools. It provides participants with a broad knowledge of the inspection process and fosters those indispensable skills for gathering pertinent data efficiently and then making unequivocal judgements. By the end of the course, participants are able to analyse school information to identify strengths and weaknesses in performance, check the accuracy of assessment data and judgements about progress through rapid and rigorous work sampling, and then diagnose causal factors through effective observation of teaching. Each participant receives a workbook packed with exemplar material, templates and resources that can be immediately used on return to school.

Code: REA-438 NC NQT Training - The Palmer Academy Hub

ETSA have worked with partners from across REAch2 to update the Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) Programme and bring it in line with current practices and expectations. The NQT Programme is designed to support the first step of a teacher’s developmental journey and is underpinned by the REAch2 Touchstones to deliver our aim of ‘exceptional opportunities for learning’. It is a valuable opportunity for NQTs to discuss their practice with peers and experienced professionals, and to find valuable space for reflection. Each session focuses on developing teachers’ knowledge of a particular curriculum area or aspect of pedagogy; it is in the integration of developing understanding of practice, pedagogy and seeing it in action that defines the programme.
