Code: REA-1513 ECT Mentor Local Development Session - Cluster 10

Excellent mentoring is key to the success of the ECF initiative and every early career teacher must be allocated a dedicated mentor as part of their statutory entitlement. The Early Career Professional Development programme is centred around developing the mentor relationship and includes a focussed learning pathway for mentors.

 Through the programme, mentors will:

  • Become the primary sources of support and challenge for their early career teachers
  • Benefit from regional training led by expert facilitators and local peer-coaching sessions with a ‘buddy’ mentor
  • Become confident in their knowledge of the Early Career Framework and develop their knowledge and skills in coaching and mentoring.

In year one, a face to face local development session for ECT mentors is part of the programme of support available and will take place within clusters. Mentors will need to confirm their attendance to their local session by booking their place on reach teach.

Target Audience: Early Career Teacher Mentors (not Induction Tutors)
