Code: REA-1670 Safer Recruitment Training (Full Day)

This year we will continue to offer the full Safer Recruitment Training once per term. Each available session will be capped to a maximum of 20 delegates so please ensure you book your preferred date in advance. A waitng list will be enabled should we be able to offer additional places we will contact those on the list.

These one-day events take delegates through the robust selection and recruitment procedures necessary to ensure that all staff are safely recruited in line with legislation and statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Delegates will learn:

  • How to plan and deliver the five stages of safter recruitment
  • Vetting and barring checks – and how to deal with any issues arising
  • Top tips for ensuring that the shortlisting and interviewing processes are conducted with due diligence to  safeguarding

Target Audience: This training is mandatory for all staff members who will be part of the recruitment process who have not yet completed safer recruitment training with REAch2. 

For those who have completed our safer recruitment training in the last 3 years, we ask that you book the alternative half day refresher training which are listed on Reach Teach.

HR will be running a set of webinars in the Leadership Series and Management Essentials.

The Restructure and Redundancy (Part 1) webinar will cover the following:

Part 1 - Preparing the Business Case

  • Writing the business case
  • Getting the financials right!
  • Involving the unions
  • Roles, responsibilities and timelines
  • Redundancy – the legal framework

Code: REA-1673 Safer Recruitment Refresher Training (Half Day - PM)

REAch2 are pleased to continue to offer our own Safer Recruitment Refresher Training again this year. In addition to the full day training we are also offering three half-day refresher sessions for those who have already completed this training with REAch2.  

For effective managemnt of groups sizes on zoom, the maximum number of delegates will be capped at 20. Additional bookings will be added to a waiting list.

Target Audience: For all involved in the selection and recruitment of staff - who have completed the REAch2 whole day Safer recruitment training but need a refresher – as the training was 3+ years ago.

For those who have not already attended the REAch2 Safer Recruitment training, we ask that you book onto one of the full day training dates first which are listed on REACH TEACH.

These termly virtual forums held on zoom, offer DSL a valuable opportunity to access expert advice, national and Trust safeguarding updates and relevant training.

Please sign up for the slot that suits you best (one per term):

Autumn Term: 9th or 23rd November
Spring Term: 25th January or 1st February
Summer Term: 25th May or 7th June

If you have any particular topics or areas that you want the forum to focus on, please contact your safeguarding lead in advance.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Any DSL trained member of staff

HR will be running a set of webinars in the Leadership Series and Management Essentials. The aim of these webinars is to give support to school leaders in developing the knowledge of HR process, policy and legislation and the skills necessary to lead and manage others.

These fast paced and interactive sessions provide plenty of opportunity for lively discussion and to ask questions on key topics.

The Managing a Disciplinayr Procedure webinar will cover the following:

As part of the Management Essentials programme, HR will be delivering a series of webinars that are ideal for Line Managers. 

The Managing a Grievance webinar will cover:
